Bat For Lashes – The Dream Of Delphi 1LP Album on red Vinyl.

The Dream of Delphi is the sixth studio album by Bat for Lashes (released in 2024). Unlike Natasha Khan’s previous theatrical, character-driven records, it serves as an intimate sonic diary and ode to motherhood. It documents the birth of her daughter, Delphi, weaving together spellbinding, ambient-leaning soundscapes with real-world instruments, birdsong, and ultrasound heartbeats.

While previous Bat for Lashes records centred on cinematic, often fictional heroines (e.g., The Bride or Laura), The Dream of Delphi turns inward, navigating an exterior world seemingly turning upside down during lockdowns, juxtaposed against the profoundly personal, womb-like, and sometimes melancholic intimacy of early motherhood.

Named after her daughter, the title ties into the mythological Greek Oracle, symbolizing an ancient future-teller, higher ideals, and mystical foresight.

Sonically, the album creates an ambient, dream-pop space. The title track opens and closes the record with sweeping angelic harp strings, while the rest of the album experiments with synthesizers, woodwinds, spoken-word poetry, and vocoders.

Side A:

1. The Dream of Delphi
2. Christmas Day
3. Letter to my Daughter
4. At Your Feet
5. The Midwives Have Left

Side B:
1. Home
2. Breaking Up
3. Delphi Dancing
4. Her First Morning
5. Waking Up
6. The Dream Of Delphi (Extended Strings Version)
