Black Bananas return with Bad Bunch, their first album in over a decade and the latest chapter in Jennifer Herrema's ever-evolving musical journey. The album reunites Herrema with longtime collaborators Brian McKinley and Kurt Midness, picking up the thread from earlier projects including Royal Trux and RTX.
Developed gradually over more than ten years, Bad Bunch emerged through stretches of experimentation, interruption and reinvention. The resulting songs blend rock, funk, electronics and improvisation into a free-flowing set shaped by the trio's instinctive chemistry and unconventional recording methods.
Rather than revisiting past ideas, Bad Bunch pushes Black Bananas further into their own territory, with Herrema's distinctive vocals at the centre of a sound that remains unpredictable, adventurous and entirely their own.
