Los Campesinos! Romance is Boring 2LP. Limited Edition on Bruise Black Marble Coloured Vinyl.
The Bruise So Black Marble vinyl edition of the Romance Is Boring double LP by Los Campesinos! released on Heart Swells. This pressing presents the album in updated packaging; the sequencing spread across two discs preserves the dense dramaturgy of the original recordings and emphasises the interplay between strong melodies and richly layered arrangements.
Romance Is Boring marks a move in the band’s discography toward more complex song structures and expanded instrumentation; string-like layers, precise guitar patterns, and a pronounced sense of dynamic contrast run throughout the record. Lyrically, the work explores fragmentation, loss, and ironic self-reflection, as the band combines its pop sensibility with more progressive moments. Critics highlighted the structural coherence and textural finesse of the recordings.
The reissue is being released on Heart Swells as part of a series in which the band is making its early albums available again on its own label for the first time; the edition contains the original’s 15 tracks, including “In Medias Res,” “Romance Is Boring,” and “Straight In At 101.”
This revised edition is aimed at listeners who appreciate the detailed songwriting and orchestral density of this phase of Los Campesinos!
