Jeremiah Fraites - The Long Walk Indie Exclusive 140g Brown vinyl. To Be Released 18th December.
You might expect the score to The Long Walk to be tense and stressful, given its based on a not so short story by Stephen King (writing as Richard Bachman) and dystopian almost sci-fi setting. However, Jeremiah Fraites, the co-founder of the indie band The Lumineers, delivers a sombre and assured score that contrasts with the devastating and horrific images on screen.
Unlike traditional horror scores that rely on piercing strings and jump scares, Fraites’s score features truly emotional melodic set pieces that ground the film and provide humanity amidst the grim action (If you don’t fall in love with “Olsen” on your first listen, I’m not sure we can be friends).
While rhythmic repetition drives the score, delicate soft melodies own it. It’s a lovely listen that stands on its own merits. We’re incredibly proud to be releasing one of 2025’s great films. Jeremiah is a true talent, and we can’t wait to hear what he has in store next. Pressed on Brown vinyl.
And i personally had one heck of a coincidence with this film relating to the book, that i’d read when it came out in “The Bachman Books” four set in the 1980s…and where it had sat on my bookshelf for 35 or so years (surviving round after round of my wife’s culls)…, until i read it again - i was gripped as before - and the day after i finished it - the announcement of this new film based on it.
