DAVID BOWIE - DAVID BOWIE (AKA Space Oddity) LP on 180g Black Vinyl. 2016 Remaster, Reissue, in Gatefold Sleeve.
Bowie’s second album, and the second called “David Bowie”, and more commonly known nowadays as “Space Oddity”.
Maybe “Cygnet Committee” should have been the title…it’s an epic genius, masterpiece glorious, cinemascope of a track.
Or perhaps, “Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud” would have fit well as an album title.. it’s one heck of a track, and seems apt to describe Bowie too.
Or why not, “Letter to Hermione”….too raw a title at the time, maybe.
“Memory of a Free Festival” combines so much, at the close of the 60s, and to close the decade, put a line under it..before Bowie conquered the world and the 1970s.
“God Knows I’m Good” would fit now, in these bewildering times of making ends meet…
Or why not, “Depth of a Circle”…the back painting, done by George Underwood, Bowie’s friend.
A wonderful record to get to know, and to play on semi regular rotation, through a lifetime..
Here’s the tracklist:
First side
A1 Space Oddity
A2 Unwashed And Somewhat Slightly Dazed
A3 Letter To Hermione
A4 Cygnet Committee
Second side
B1 Janine
B2 An Occasional Dream
B3 Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud

B5 Memory Of A Free Festival
Parlophone Cat. No. DB69731 2016
