David Bowie - Hunky Dory. 1LP on 180g Black Vinyl. 2016 Remaster.
Bowie’s fourth studio album, and the first to be Produced by Ken Scott - (assisted by the actor).
The first album to be recorded, engineered and mixed fully at Trident Studios in Soho, London. (Though David Bowie, AKA Space Oddity, and The Man Who Sold also used Trident - atleast in part - with Ken Scott as Sound Engineer).
Recorded in summer 1971, when Bowie and Ken Scott were 24 & Ronno was 25, this album certainly won’t rot either. An utter classic of a beautiful album from start to finish.
So four albums in - Bowie had laid down an incredible foundation - 4 superb albums, and all so different to each other. Remarkable…and with no record label, at least during the recording of Hunky Dory.
