And so, with the final, sensational, Ziggy show at Hammersmith on July 3rd 1973, staying with us the longest, Woody was out, and Aynsley Dunbar was in. PinUps would be the last album with Trevor Bolder and practically the last with Mick Ronson.
Aladdin Sane & PinUps are special in that respect - the only two studio albums with full contributions by both Mike Garson and Ronno.
Bowie and Ken Scott were co-producers for the last time on PinUps - both at Château d’Hérouville studio north of Paris (and the next door village to where Vincent Van Gogh spent his last 82 days), and back at Trident.
The album of covers has a special cover, Justin de Villeneuve made the photo of “Twig The Wonderkid” and Bowie. Justin was an Eastender, who had the remarkable good fortune to be evacuated during World War II, and being housed with J.B Priestley, the famous novelist and social commentator.
Pierre Laroche made the masks.
