Iggy Pop - The Idiot - 1LP on 180g Black Vinyl. 2017 Reissue.
The Idiot is Iggy Pop’s debut solo album, released on March 18, 1977, through RCA Records. It was produced by David Bowie and primarily recorded in summer 1976, just after Bowie finished his Isolar1 World Tour in Paris, at the Château d'Hérouville in Hérouville, just north of the French Capital, and in the next village to Auvers-sur-Oise where Vincent Van Gogh spent his last 70 days in 1890.
The album followed the break-up of Pop's band the Stooges in 1974 and a period of drug addiction for both Pop and Bowie, after which the two moved to Europe in an effort to kick their addictions.
The Idiot is an absolute classic album, which sounds better and better at every listen, through every year.
