Like a Prayer is widely regarded as the definitive turning point in Madonna's career, transforming her from a premier pop star into a critically acclaimed, boundary-pushing musical artist. Released on March 21, 1989, by Sire Records, the album was an immense success.

Till Death Do Us Part gives a raw, unsettling look into the volatile dissolution of her marriage to actor Sean Penn. Some of the album was recorded at Prince’s Paisley Park. Prince contributed to four tracks.
