This is one of my favourite records, and so I will try to always have this record in stock. Tom Verlaine certainly wrote a masterful lyric here, and what a sound he and Richard Lloyd created. No wonder David Byrne & Talking Heads gave this album such credit around the time of their debut album, and why Patti Smith wanted to be the female Tom Verlaine. You can certainly see Tom in Patti.

Richard Hell had left Television long before the recording of Marquee Moon.

Marquee Moon was recorded at A&R Recording in NYC in November 1976, co-produced by Tom Verlaine & Andy Johns and was released in early 1977 in the USA and UK.

This is a record of some incredible genius as good as anything from anyone. It’s an album to get to know and play again and again and again.
