The Cure - The Head on The Door - 1LP Black Vinyl. Reissue, Remaster.
The Cure’s 6th album, The Head on The Door, released in 1985, remains an absolutely cracking listen. A huge commercial worldwide success then, and now.
Recording sessions took place at Angel Recording Studios, at Angel, Islington (around the corner from where Douglas Adams wrote Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy).
Produced by Robert Smith and David Allen. The album marked Simon Gallup’s return to the band; Boris Williams made his debut on drums, and Lol Tolhurst shifted entirely to keyboards.
The Head on the Door is one of many absolutely essential Cure albums…it’s a darn fine listen. One to go back to again and again.
Just look at this for a tracklist.
